Whether you are at a store or buying online, there are several ways to search and find coupons and promo codes to get discounts. Many stores will gladly provide you with a promo code in exchange for signing up to receive their newsletter. You can also go directly to shopping portals or websites like Groupon to get discounts. But coupons and promo codes aren’t the only ways to get discounts when you are shopping. Stores are coming up with innovative ways to not only attract shoppers, but to also find out what shoppers are looking for. What perfect way to find out what shoppers are interested in than by asking shoppers directly. Instead of just signing up for a store’s newsletter by providing your email, stores are asking consumers to complete ‘short quiz’. Basically, it asks a few, short questions in exchange for a discount or a promotion. Depending on the store, it is called different names. For example, ShoeDazzle calls it a ‘fashion quiz’; JustFab asks to complete a short ‘style quiz’, or in their alternate website geared for kids fashion Fabkids, you complete a ‘lifestyle quiz’.
How does the Quiz Work?
The quiz are pretty interesting, not what I expected. I clicked on the VIP link at JustFab, and I was asked “WHICH SHOE STYLE IS MOST “YOU”?, followed by a series
of shoe pictures and a few more questions in which I picked an image of what I would wear. Afterwards, I was asked to provide my size and other relative questions like color, and that was it. No personal questions, like income or so. At the end of the quiz, I was offered the promotion to purchase 2 pairs of shoes for $29.99, as they have a limited time special. Normally, its 2 pairs of shoes for $39.99. Shipping is free on orders over $39 within the contiguous United States. Not a bad deal! Though I don’t know how long this sale will last. So if you also want to take advantage of this deal, go the JustFab website and complete your quiz.
Its all about What You Get:
Completing the quiz at JustFab creates a ’boutique of personalized shoes’ which saves time from looking for that perfect pair. However, by completing the registration and purchasing the shoes, I was enrolled in their VIP program. Frankly, I don’t get shoes all the time, nor do I want to pay for a membership I don’t use every month. However, in the JustFab VIP program one can choose to skip any month – If I don’t want to make your purchase, simply log into the account by the 5th of the month and “Skip The Month”. The account won’t be charged. If nothing is done on the account between the 1st and the 5th of each month, the credit card will be charged $39.95 on the 6th, until the account is cancelled. If I do want shoes, I simply visit my ’boutique’ and choose the shoes I want.
Very similar to JustFab, Shoedazzle also asks consumers to complete a ‘fashion quiz’, in which you can choose the image of the shoes and styles you like in order to match your taste and create your ’boutique’. However, after completing the quiz, you receive a free VIP membership and get your first pair for $10. You also choose to skip a month, or pay $39.99 membership and get your shoes. You can cancel any time. To get your first pair of shoes for $10, head over to Shoedazzle website and register.
