3 Ways to Save on an Amazon Membership

Prime Day this year is scheduled for June 21st and 22nd. If you’re looking to get some nice deals or just browse and don’t already have a Prime membership, there are 3 ways to get it free.

While shopping on Amazon during Prime Day doesn’t require an Amazon membership, it certainly maximizes your savings.

1. Amazon Prime membership for new members – free to try out for a month

As a new member, the Prime membership is free of charge for 30 days.

The top benefit Prime members get during Amazon Prime Day is early access to Prime Day Deals

On Prime Day, there are lots of flash sales with deep discounts. These are the most watched items in Amazon too, because of the price. Consequently, these items go quickly. However, Prime members get exclusive early access to buy these items 30 minutes before non-members. Last year, the best offers were gone before they even went live for the general public!

During the free signup period you’ll have access to all the Prime benefits, such as Free two day shipping, which will give you time to receive what you order in time to try out the merchandise and exchange it if you need to with Amazon’s shipping benefits.

Other benefits include discounted or limited free access to Amazon’s entertainment services like Free Kindle Unlimited for endless reading, Prime movies among many others.

After the 30 days you can either elect to cancel or continue your membership. The monthly membership costs $12/month (plus taxes).

2. Free Membership for College Students

College students have the fantastic benefit of not only getting Amazon Prime free for 6 months, but then paying 50% off the monthly membership rate.

On top of the Prime Membership benefits, college students also get exclusive student offers such as special pricing on Amazon Music unlimited for $0.99/month, Twitch freebies, savings on textbooks an more.

3. Discounted Amazon Membership

If you’re a new member you can sign up for the limited time free membership listed above. However, EBT holders, Medicaid recipients, or other government assistance recipients can qualify to get Amazon Prime for $5.99/month instead of the regular price after the trial offer.

To get started head to the Prime for EBT offer details and click Get Started to enter your card information to determine if you qualify.

While the biggest Amazon discounts occur during Prime Day, the savings don’t end. There are ongoing Amazon deals and savings which rotate on a regular basis with great low prices. For example, coupons found on several products ranging from clothes to pantry items. In some cases you can add up the savings with coupons plus promo codes to score savings of up to 90% off the original price.

Service Members

Amazon Prime discounts are also offered on commemorative celebrations. Veterans Day and events that celebrate people are days to keep an eye out for Membership discounts. Often Amazon offers a discount on the annual membership in addition to complete access free for 30 days.

Everyone can shop at Amazon. However, the best way to score great discounts and save is to have a Prime membership. Get it free or discounted. Hope this helps you start your plan for Big shopping events like Black Friday savings.

Happy savings, TaLis
