2024 Target Teacher Discount

Announcement: Target is extending its popular Teacher Prep Event to run July 17 – Sept. 10 – nearly six weeks longer than last year – giving teachers the opportunity to save 15% on school supplies and more

Usually around the third week in July, Target offers teachers a 15% discount on select school supplies to help get ready for the new school year. Horray for Target! Teachers often end up spending their own money to get their classrooms ready for learning because they don’t get a stipend that’s sufficient to get all they need. The Target teacher discount helps stretch your dollar.

The ‘Teacher Prep Event‘ is only available to teachers who work in the US.

Most people assume the discount is only available to teachers who work in a regular school setting such as the public school system, private or charter schools. However, this offer is also available to teachers in day care centers, early childhood learning centers, home schools, and non-traditional teaching settings.

How to get the Target teacher discount

In order to get your educator discount at Target, head over to ‘Teacher Prep Event” on Target’s website and confirm your eligibility. Simply enter the name of the school where you work, along with your name & your work email. You will then be asked to upload a copy of your ID, official letter or a pay stub.

For home school teachers, upload a school district approval letter or a government stated document. Once verified, you’ll receive a coupon via email, which you can use in store or online.

Maximize your savings

On top of the educator discount, there’s a lot of other ways to maximize savings at Target.

In addition to getting 15% discount, you’ll get an additional 5% off when you pay with either Target’s credit or Target’s debit card. The Target credit card in itself has awesome extra benefits that save shoppers money. Usually credit cards end up increasing debt, but Target’s card surprisingly helps your budget. Plus, you’ll get free shipping (shop from the comfort of your couch!)
